Meet Pat McElraft

Pat McElraft has distinguished herself in her first term in the State House of Representatives as a strong voice for the citizens. She played an important role in several important pieces of legislation and gained a reputation as a common-sense conservative who always kept the concerns of her constituents first and foremost.
Pat serves as a member of several key committees including Environment and Natural Resources, Education, Juvenile Justice and Appropriations.

Pat is a former member of the Carteret County Board of Commissioners and previously served as the District 3 Director for the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. She served on the executive committee of East Carolina Council, as a Board member of Coastal Community Action, Board member of the Carteret County Beach Commission, Board member of North Carolina Beach, Waterway and Inlet Association (NCBIWA), past co-chair of the Bogue Banks Beach Preservation Association, and is a member of the Crystal Coast Republican Women's club. Pat has been involved in various non- profit and professional organizations for over 30 years including the American Red Cross, Navy Relief Society, Southeastern Association of Clinical Microbiologists.
She has worked as a sales representative for a national microbiology products company for the past 25 years.
Pat has been married to Retired Marine Colonel Roger McElraft for 44 years. Colonel McElraft is a Division Chair for Coastal Carolina Community College. They have two children and two grandchildren.
